MamaDoc is a registered community interest company supporting black and brown migrant parents through pregnancy, birth and parenting with access to expert-led guidance, a supportive network and resources to raise thriving families.
MamaDoc was born out of our lived experiences as migrant parents and family doctors in the UK. Through challenges like pregnancy complications, postpartum struggles, and limited access to culturally competent resources, we recognized the need for a supportive, expert-led platform tailored to the unique journey of migrant families.
MamaDoc was born out of our lived experiences as migrant parents and family doctors in the UK.
Like many immigrant parents, we faced unique struggles raising our child in a new healthcare system, far from the wisdom and support of our parents and with no extended family around for those much-needed breaks.
From navigating perinatal anxiety to latching problems, to tongue ties to postpartum complications, weight gain and more, we often felt alone in this. The sleepless nights, countless Google searches, and moments of doubt were overwhelming. We often asked ourselves, “Are we doing this right?” What support is out there?
Our programs are designed by healthcare professionals who understand the cultural and systemic challenges faced by our community.

The one-on-one birth planning session was enlightening and interactive. It was packed with so much relevant information. I felt comfortable and relaxed talking with Dr. Nimah, which made it easy to discuss my worries about childbirth, especially being in a foreign country. 10/10!

The Birth Readiness Class gave me clarity on the necessary tests and screenings I need while preparing for delivery. Also, the knowledge that I can communicate with my baby right from the womb excites me. Thank you, Dr. Yusuf!
